Earthquake-triggered tsumanis sweep shores along Iwanuma in northern Japan on March 11. The magnitude 8.9 earthquake slammed Japan’s eastern coast, unleashing a 13-foot tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings, and tons of debris miles inland.
It's heartbreaking, isn't it? Mother Nature is taking its toll and there is nothing we can do. Look at the world right now. An earthquake struck Japan, and a nuclear explosion. A tsunami hit Hawaii, Japan, and Russia, and maybe more. The government is killing people in Libya. Soldiers die everyday for their country. There are homeless people with no food or water. There are children dying of disease there is no known cure for. People everywhere need items to survive and all we do is take, take items that we don't need. Food that is wasted could feed a starving child. The clothes you throw away because they are 'so last season' could clothe a homeless person for a year. Even if you have no money to spare for these people please send them a prayer.
And, no, things don't stop there.
Next week, the moon will make its closest approach to Earth in almost 20 years. Astrologers say the phenomenon, known as “Super Moon,” historically coincides with enormous natural disasters. Both the New England hurricane of 1938 and the Australian Hunter Valley floods of 1955 happened during Super Moons, they say. The last Super Moon came in 2005, at around the same time as Hurricane Katrina and the Indonesian tsunami.
And, damn it, my parents are going to be in Japan on the 17th to the 22nd. And the moon's coming round on the 19th.
P.S. USA lost many lives on 9-11-01 and now Japan has lost more lives on 3-10-11. add the 2 dates together and you get 12-21-12. 21st December 2012.
